Our new ribbon gate-fold invitations will be launched soon but we are so excited about the range that we couldn’t wait to give you a sneak preview.  I quickly snapped these shots outside our studio before the professional photos are taken next week.  It will probably take a couple of weeks to get this range online because it will be available in a total of 37 different colours and, as with all our designs, we do our best to coordinate the whole range of products.  This means that with so many colours and so many coordinating items there will be a lot of photography to process.

The gentle floral pattern is another feature that coordinates on all the items in this range; its delicate emboss and pealescent reflection catches the light beautifully with understated sophistication.  The texture of the emboss is best seen in the flesh and you can do this by requesting a free sample when the range is online but this is one important element that we hope to capture with the photography.

Chocolate 8XP150 and Vanilla 8XP470

 We are pleased to announce that the Chocolate Brown design now has a new colourway.  Like a dollop of refreshing finest vanilla pod infused Italian Ice cream the Vanilla design above is a worthy partner to the finest Chocolate  Fudge cake in the restaurant.  The vanilla cream design is more subtle than the deep chocolate brown colour of the original and will serve most colour schemes very well.  The same gold foil personalisation is retained and looks beautiful against the cream card.

When you order this invitation in either the Chocolate or Vanilla designs you will receive a pdf proof of your personalised wording in your chosen typeface (we think Typeface 419 pictured above works best for this design) .  You can make as many changes to the proof as you like and on each change a new proof will be sent.  When you approve the proof a special polymer impression plate is made which is used to press the gold foil on to the card insert.  This is gold foiling at its best and beats many of the toner foiling wedding designs that we are starting to see enter the wedding stationery market with the advent of cheaper technology.  To see for yourself visit our site for a free sample.

We have featured Cardlab on these pages before and there is no better time to grab a bargain than at the moment with many wedding stationery companies feeling the credit crunch pinch and coming up with wonderful discounts.  Cardlab have a 20% discount until the end of October which can add up to a significant saving on your overall stationery costs.

Their beautiful autumn brown and gold Hattie design above is embossed with a contemporary cord texture and the chocolate brown cover is finished with a personalised wrap.  My quick calculations showed that you can save around £100 on a purchase of 50 Day and Evening invitations.  That is a serious saving and it unlikely you would have found a similar deal at this time last year.

The Hattie design comes with a choice of 4 internal insert colours to compliment the Choco cover :- Soft Ivory, Pistachio, Candy Pink and Fuscia Pink.  I must admit I cannot quite picture Chocolate and Fuscia Pink together and my imagination likens it to a Black Forest Gateaux.  But I have been pleasantly surprised with unsual colour combinations before and Cardlab offer a comprehensive sample service so you do not have leave any bold decisions to chance.

Really want to stand out from the crowd with some funky invitations?  These giraffe print invitations are from the Sophia collection at Two by Two Weddings and are just one of the many options you can choose from different coloured boards, different embossed boards and many different coloured ribbons.  Choose between something funky like this Sophia with animal detail to something understated, yet equally stunning like the Sophia cream with watermarked rose print shown below.  Prices range between £3.20 and £3.40 depending on the number of cards ordered and the size ordered.

The flower motif detail in this invitation is cleverly cut out of the cream top layer to reveal the chocolate brown card beneath.  It is this layered approach that defines many of the invitations in the ‘Papercut designs” collection from Sasson Invitations.  Browns and Greens are very popular at the moment and the combination of a moss green background with chocolate brown layered card and ink creates a very appealing ensemble.

What is not immediately obvious on the Sasson website is the option to have a different motif with this design.  Whilst the flower motif pictured above does suit the natural and earthy colours of this style very well many couples will wish to choose a different motif to personalise the card further.  I particularly like the two letter monogram motifs in the selection to the left which lets your guests know that your invitations are truly unique and have been created only for you.

Pricing for all Sasson invitations is very simple.  There are only three price bands of which this design is mid range and then pricing depends on the quantity required.  For 25 to 75 invitations the price is a very reasonable £3.85 each.  I am curious to discover that there is also a price band for under 25 invitations with no obvious restriction on minimum order quantity.  Something tells me that they are unlikely to personalise just one or two invitations for £4.20 each.

I have been trying to lose a bit of weight the last couple of weeks and have set myself a target to lay off the chocolate until Christmas.  This design does nothing to ease my cravings as it looks like a delicious slab of Galaxy or Dairy Milk chocolate, with a glint of the gold foil wrap inside.

When I first saw this design, Simplicity from Porosol Print, I thought it looked a lot like the Chocolate Brown wedding invitation from CCA Occasions.  Both shared the long landscape shaped cut, the rich brown card and the block gold lettering on the cover.  I guess it is easy to forgive either company from copying as it is such a simple design that it is equally conceivable that both designers came up with similar creations.  The differences, as far as I can tell, is that Porosol Print have added an organza bow to their design in place of the thick spine of the CCA card.  Both companies also enable you to have the gold foil print on the insert inside your card as well, but I am not sure that this is not taking the foiling a little too far and I personally think that perhaps a chocolate brown ink might look better.

Unfortunately, you will not find any detailed pricing on the Porosal print site because it depends on what options you have but it does state that prices for their cards start at £2.00 each.  CCA Occasions pricing, as with most wedding stationers, is dependent on quantity but if you find that most suppliers discount the CCA range and you should be able to pick up the Chocolate Brown design for around £2.70 each for 50 cards.
